Welcome to first grade at Alphonsus Academy! My name is Jacquie Burgoon, and I am thrilled to be your child’s teacher for the 2017-2018 school year! This will be my third year teaching first grade at AACA, and Kelly Clingen’s first year as the Room 207 assistant.
I grew up in Barrington, Illinois, and attended the University of Missouri-Columbia. At Mizzou, I graduated with an undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education and earned a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction while teaching kindergarten. I moved back to Chicago in 2015, when I got a first grade position at AACA. Some of my favorite hobbies include traveling with my family, enjoying live music, going on outdoor adventures, and trying new restaurants! This winter my family will be spending the holidays skiing in Colorado, and we hope to go to China next summer to visit my sister who lives there!
Kelly grew up in Batavia, Illinois, and attended the University of Iowa. She graduated with an undergraduate degree in Applied Human Services and received her teaching licensure through the Master of Arts in Teaching program at National Louis University. Kelly moved to Chicago this August, and this is her first year working as a teaching assistant at AACA. Her hobbies include reading, traveling, attending sporting events and exploring the Lakeview neighborhood she can now call home!
Kelly and I enjoyed meeting many of you on Academy Day, and we look forward to a fantastic year with you and your children!
